Designer inspired CCB project

The Canvas Corp Brands team challenged the DT designers to create something inspired by another designer, from fashion to furniture, with original techniques, colors or patterns.
I'm often inspired by fashion designers and this time I choose Dolce&Gabana to create a frame :

Lace, flowers, golden accents... so beautiful ! I was this close to choose Christian Lacroix (another favorite) but D&G win my heart with the big red roses...

I used a cardboard photo frame with a damask paper (Canvas Corp Brands), leaves and white roses (I Am Roses)  sprayed with red glimmer mist (Tattered Angels, Baby Santa), black paint and gold microbeads.

Can you see the gold shimmer on the roses ? Love this effect !

Stop by the CCB blog to see which other designers had inspired the crew !

Scrapping Clearly June moodboard

Hello scrappers !

I'm here to show you today how I played with the Scrapping Clearly June moodboard :

Gorgeous colors and great designs ! I think those are my favorite colors... oh and feathers ! Look what I did...

You can find a Heidi Swapp paper for the background, 3 sheets of Color Magic resist pattern papers by Heidi Swapp, some mists by Tattered Angels (find your favorites here), Maya Road doilies, feathers dies by DoCraft, and Say-it-in-crystal centers (Prima Marketing), some beads and fibers...
I created the center doilie with a Lucky8 punch (We R Memory Keepers) and other small punches.

By uploading your project on the Scrapping Clearly blog, you could win an Heidi Swapp mini Memory files album !

So grab your stash and play with us !
See you soon...

DCWV June sketch challenge layout

Hi there !

Did you see the card I made for the June DCWV challenge ? The above layout came straight from the same stack, Vintage Boutique, who was perfect for the picture I took in Paris in March :

You can recognize the Sacre-Coeur and the Pyramide du Louvre, and the small picture on the right is a part of an old famous theater being dismantled.
I did loved this pink Tour Eiffel for the background, really perfect for the vintage look I add to the pictures via Instagram.

Use the above sketch and upload your layout to the DCWV blog to enter the drawing...

June Prima BAP sketch challenge

Hello !

If you follow me a little, you know I have a habit to change circles into flowers... OK my bad... But I did it again with the new Prima sketch :

June 2015 BAP keren

For this layout I use a flower stencil by Prima, their Say-it-in-crystal flower centers, watercolor pencils, Faber-Castell pen and American Crafts alpha stickers :

Few close-ups...

I hope you like it and I wish you an happy day !

Feeling Sketchy challenge #123

Hello everyone !

I made a (kinda) steampunk card for the second Feeling Sketchy challenge of this month with a digistamp from our sponsor Kenny K :

I use DCWV cardstock in blue and gray, a Sizzix Alterations embossing folder, some Webster's Pages metal ribbon (colored in brown with a marker), Copic markers and Velocitia digi stamp, along with this sketch :

You'll have until the end of June to upload your project following this sketch to enter our drawing...
Good luck to all !

May Arts Ribbons DT audition

Hi everyone !

Today I will show you few projects in which I used ribbons and laces as I want to apply to the May Arts Ribbons DT call...
You may have seen few of their ribbons in my projects (as I received some as a DCWV GDT member), like this mini Insta Fun album :

I used the ribbon as a border for the entire album, keeping a small piece I colored in red to decorate one of the card.

You did see another May Arts ribbon in this card, where I create a ribbon flower as a nest for a paper flower :

And another card where the MA ribbon added dimensions to the background :

But what else can I do with ribbons and laces ? Just take a look !

and few layouts where ribbons or laces were the perfect accents...

For the last black one, I used a satin ribbon in a different way, as fiber ! You can watch there how I did it.

And if you still need more inspiration on how to use ribbons, watch this small video (in French but with english captions) about making flowers with satin, lace or mesh (and don't laugh at my accent).

Thanks to everyone patient enough to reach the end of this post, and wish me luck !

DCWV June card sketch challenge

Hello !

I'm glad I've done this card before, 'cause right now I cannot hit my scraproom, it's like a hundred degree in there. It's in the attic, and I haven't put the AC yet so I will be stuck downstair for a week or two until the temperature get down a little bit.

So, I've use the new DCWV sketch to create my card :

And I went crazy Frenchie with the Boutique Vintage stack...

I did fussy cut the mustaches and made a small banner with the punched letters U, R and Z (like a French saying "you are the").

This was a fun card to create ! I did a layout too with the same stack, can you spot it on the DCWV blog ? What will you create for this challenge ?

See you around (if I did melt already...)

DCWV altered gift box

Most of you are probably done with teacher and staff gifts as the school has ended in the U.S., but it haven't started here in France, so I'm not late for this.

We all have this I-can-do-something-with-this box that we keep in case we have an epiphany about creating something with it. In fact, I got several of them... I finally had an idea for this old phone case gift box I kept for like 3 years !

I use my Coral and Navy stack to cover it, add some cherry blossom and blue leaves (I Am Roses), Webster's Pages pink alpha stickers, and I'm now the owner of a beautiful gift box ! I just have to find the perfect gift to put in it...

Did you notice it matches perfectly the card I made few days ago ?

OK, one done. How much to go already ?

Have a nice day, mine will be busy...
